Helping artists hear the record they imagine.
I aim to help the artist realize their vision (not mine!). At times that means asking them to work against their better judgment, and at times it means working against my own.
I work with artists to keep sessions open to the creative impulse, wherever it comes from. Even the seemingly trivial can have value, even what first looks like a distraction.
I also take responsibility for the focus and flow of the session.
Production
From pre-production and arrangement through tracking and final delivery. Long-term collaborations include Patrick Smith (three albums), The Crown, and The Hellboys.
Mixing & mastering
Mixing from your multitracks, with mastering available for the same project. Recent mixes include The Crown, Zero Times Everything, and Doble Vida.
Recording & editing
Tracking and detailed editing, especially for acoustic and solo-instrument records where every note is exposed.
Sound for picture & stage
Production and post-production sound for film and PSAs, and sound design for theater.
